Acronyms in Job Adverts

Just a small rant!

I can understand that some acronyms in adverts means that you get the people that understand the job and have taken the various exams so have knowledge of the subject.

However, sometimes companies use their own acronyms for processors they have set up. How would you in that case know what they are talking about?

Therefore, my opinion would be to be clear in adverts and use business and targeted discipline words, but not acronyms’.

What are other people’s opinions?

'Prior NMI experience in an OE environment would be an advantage'
This is associated with a procurement role.

Is it an Electronics firm? The first bit could be a standard in electronics and the second bit I am guessing that it means an Original Equipment manufacturer.

I have now found out it means.

'Prior New Model Introduction experience in an Original Equipment environment would be an advantage'

Plain English would be New Product Development experience would be an advantage

A lot of Engineering talk is TLAs

I think it is part of the application process itself.
