My wife has an Aygo and loves it. The one problem is that we are expecting our second child in April, and will need a double buggy. A single buggy fits perfectly (just) in the boot of the Aygo, so it is an ideal daily runabout. Any ideas for a similar car, but with a boot that will accomodate a double buggy?

Criteria are:

1) Automatic - she has a disability which makes a manual more difficult.
2) Cheap (thinking 2-3 years old)
3) Economical - clocks up around 8k a year, so diesel not necessary.
4) Reliable
5) I will drive it occasionally so good handling etc a bonus - rules out going up the Toyota tree to a Corolla I feel!

Thanks!

Sounds like you probably want something based on the mk5/6 Golf platform or a mk2 Focus?

Yaris would fit the bill, I'd have thought? (Disclaimer: I know nothing of buggies)

Yaris should fit the bill pretty well, good size boots, at 2-3 years old your in the previous shape with the sliding seats, ISOFIX, and quite good specs. Nice little cars

Suzuki Swift
Hyundai i20

Would be my two suggestions as long as they're big enough.

A friend has a Swift and another friend has a Swift Sport and they're pretty decent for their segment I think.
