Hi chaps,
Looking to improve my tired rad.....it's "currently" working fine, no leaks, holds good temp etc but has lost some fins and generally looking a bit sorry for itself so thought I'd treat the old girl to a new one.
Can anyone recomment a good radiator re core specialist or if anyone had a half decent used rad knocking around I'd be happy to buy it off you.

I've had an alley rad put in mine and new fans, looks great, works good and you can polish it! Powers Performance in Cov did it, nice, so if you can afford to, go the whole hog, long run it's well worth it. Peace of mind etc, oh and looks cool from the front.

Mine is a Griffith - but same deal. My car would overheat if you drove below 20mph for as little as a minute, and would not want to cool off again.

Bought an aluminium radiator from ACT, very nicely made, fantastic service, and the car can sit in the hot sun and run for half an hour without as much as a neddle width raise in temperature. The car is transformed. Not able to say if a recore would have done it for sure, but I suspect not, at least not as well - the old core looked fairly clean inside, and with a garden hose the flow rate is good.

Good luck - whatever path you take.

What is the benefit of an alloy rad over a traditional one other than looks?

The fans and cowling are so large that most of the rad is covered anyway.
