Hahaha so true. Bet it'll be a freaking monster with a suitably impressive time.
The 991 is really growing on me. Seeing how 'cheap' (all things being relative) they are in the US, I might get one on a 2 year lease deal.
Back in blighty, I think the (watercooled) 911 peaked for me at the 997.1 RS.
Sensible wheel bolts, in tyre sizes that didn't limit you to PS Cups or Pirelli equivalent. A magnificently strong engine (notwithstanding the rare coolant pipe bonding issue), a noise to die for, mated to a fantastic 6 speed manual and all mounted in an epic stiff chassis. In terms of usable driver fun, this is the pinnacle of usable watercooled pork that you can comfortably use to tour europe. I'd be more than a little annoyed travelling at double-decker bus speeds up in the Alps on PS Cups because on one day it rained and left some standing water, or out in Estonia with a flat tyre and not being able to get the bloody thing off 'cos nobody has the daft Porsche wheel bolt tool.
No, 997.1 RS. Win win win.
