1. Youre full of it.
2. If you race on the street, bad things will happen.

yeah racing is bad, on the roads. The mins strength is round the corners but its always a laugh passing people at over a ton. Strongly recommend you check out some hill climbing, it doesnt matter what state of tune and some catagories dont require a cage, its fairly cheap and not too demanding mechanically and above all theres no traffic coming the other way, or grannies stepping out in front of you etc, and the speed cameras dont issue points and a fine.

i only had 2 do it 2 show these BMW things that an old mini is not a slow granny car and that there cars are crap i dont always speed infact i hardly ever do now but u just gota step on it sometimes and that 40mph corner was on a motorway it was not through a residential street or nething cause that would just be stupid i may steep on it sometimes but i dont do it in stupid areas

Are the new Minis crap? I thought that they were very capable modern hatchbacks built to a higher quality and finish than things like Corsas and Fiestas. My usual road car is a BMW 728i and if the BMW Mini is anything like the same quality it must be great. I was thinking of getting one for my wife as her next car.

know what you mean mr mullett, i generally find them deeply offensive and latch on to anything bad said about them. But Cooperman is right, as a modern car they have their benefits and if the wife wanted one it might even be fun, but if it aint a (real) mini i'm just not interested. Once on a hillclimb, bearing in mind that at 63mph through the speed trap, compared to 80 in a race mini and 120 in a single seater, they were some of the slowest cars on the course, one still managed to roll 3 times end over (driver ok though), makes me suspiscious of the handling but thats probably not fair comment.

Ive been a passenger in the new mini and thought that it was impressive, very little roll in corners and the acceleration is far better than you'd think
