Well, thats it, the cheque came today from Direct Line, paid in full for my beautiful car!
I rang them to quote on my new car and they said they wouldn't be taking all 13yrs no claims off me (un-protected) they would leave me with 3yrs no claims and when I renew in Jan they will make it up to 4 years.
Can't complain at that, or the service I have had since the accident both me and third party.
My new car is cheaper to insure so they are even sending me a premium refund!!
Well done Direct Line, I can reccomend them as you never know how good they are going to be until the fateful day!

Had a great experience with DL on the only claim I've ever made. Quibbled their initial offer, and guy came back with 10% more the same day. All sorted without any fuss.

Can't believe you didn't protect your no claims, mind...

Hmmmm, I was absolutely to the limit financially to buy and insure the car as it was, and at the end of the day - I wasn't going to crash it when I insured it!! lol

Hi Baz, nice to see you still trawling, you'll be back !!

On my claim, I didn't think Tesco's were brilliant, the extra £100 legal cover I paid involved them saying " contact the motor insurance bureau"

£100 well spent, I don't think

Mines due this month, so I'll check out DL. (I'd rather pay the extra)

Thanks Russ, Mick, have bought a brand spanking Saab 9-2 Aero Conv - all the bells and whistles keep the Mrs quiet for a while (EuroNcap5*) the long term plan however is a crew cab pick up and a Chim 500 I think.

Thanks for all the support over the past rollercoaster year, all I REALLY want is to have my baby back but there ya go!

Of course I meant 9-3, my big fat fingers lol!!

Although they have a 9-2 in the US i've heard, don't know what format that takes though?
