Hi Newbie here, I posted something earlier on here titled 'Unit 4 Burton...' but wanted to take this opportunity to say 'Hi' and introduce myself under the banner of 'Newbie'.

I bought a Chim 4.0L back in June 2012 after running an Elise for 5+ years. The Chim is Starmist Blue (I think) with a few mods (i.e. front and rear light conversions, larger wheels etc.) which in my opinion look great; however reading the threads on here, some will not agree although everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It also spent some time at Willow Sports Cars in Nottingham where it was restored in so far as body off, chassis done, engine rebuild; new interior and coat of paint. I've got all the pics of the rebuild, very interesting indeed. To be honest, I keep it in the garage and can't stop opening the door to look at it, even now after owning it for 6 months. It's fantastic!!!

Since owning the Chim I've had to replace the alternator, wiper arms; plug leads and dizzy cap, pretty standard stuff really. My other half says she doesn't like it, but then again she didn't like the Elise either ..... never mind, that means it only gets driven by me then!

It's sanctuary anyways, looks great, I never tire of looking at mine, let alone driving it!

Welcome. I've had a VX220 and like your Elise, very different to the Chim. The Chim is comfortable for a start!

Welcome!! Mine is Starmist Blue too, though it looks darker than yours. Full sunlight may have some thing to do with that - not seen mine in full sun for a while! The handbook will tell you what colour it is. If not, there's a colour code on the plate in the engine bay, and a list of paint colours somewhere in Pistonheads.

Good to see another car that's been restored to better-than-new by Nick at Willow.

I almost bought a Chimaera with the same light conversion but in the end bought a more traditional one. I'm glad I did as I like my front end but have to say that in your colour it looks really good.

Welcome!
