I am planning to build a bike engine for the Monoposto Race series, whice will be used in a 400 Kg (including me) single seater.

The rules for the "tuned engine" class are virtually free providing the maximum capacity is not more than 1200 cc and the original bore and stroke are maintained (Hyabussa is out then).

Does anybody have any idea which tuners could get the most power and which engine is the best starting point? (Engine weight is important too as struggling to get down to the 400 Kg).

Thanks,

Lance

ZX12R must be prime candidate. More powerful and less weighty than the Hayabusa lump.

I understand the old GSXR 1100 engines are highly tunable & bullet proof, would imagine they're pretty cheap too.
