Exterior door buttons
Discussion
Not 100% sure on the cerb as i have not removed one on mine yet, But on a Chimaera there is a little springs behind it you need to un hook first. Move the glass to a extreme position using the control joy stick and have a look in behind it for those little springs. If it is like that a little screw driver is all you need to un hook them.
There are no springs on the Cerbera (at least on mine!) The glass is mounted on a frame clips into the actuating arms on the motor. Just ease it out, then you can get at the screws behind. You will need to solder the new button onto the wiring harness, it doesn't have spade connections.
I ordered mine from RS online along with the waterpoof covers..
As above, the mirror needs to be prized out carefully, its just clipped in.. From memory (I changed mine a LONG time ago) you then unscrew the rear mirror cover and can then get to the button + internals.. Just chop the wires and either solder the new buttons back on, or (as I did) crimp some spade connectors on making things easier and saving you having to solder things up in the cold.. After soldering I also hot glued the contacts/connections to prevent any future corrosion/water ingress to the buttons..
Heres my thread, but unfortunately I didn't link to the tear down thread I used to open up the mirrors nor do the old links for the buttons work
