In two minds whether to change this year or not. Properly on the fence at the mo!

997 Cabrio

Major service due in March, plus discs and pads total around £1300-1500

Is it better to sell afterwards for a bit more wonga, fully serviced nearer summer or beforehand and lower asking price based on impending service??

Any experience?

Probbaly better off selling whenever you actually want to sell.

Although there is a belief that cabs will achieve more Spring onwards. However, if you spend the money on service, discs, etc. you are unlikely to recover that in full on your sale. May be better to sell before - or call a few indies and ask for offers.

I don't think there is much in it really, given all of the other variables being the same.

Many punter will simply move on from an advert if there's a lot of work due, I would.

If it's mint, do the work and sell for top dollar, if not, bang it out for peanuts as it is.

I spent £3k on mine, warranty, tyres and disks and pads.... In all honesty I don't think it made it much easier to sell, though was probably worth more due to the work, given the chance again I wouldn't of bothered and just advertised it much cheaper, seem smooth second hand buyers are more interested in the price, milage and number of owners rather than the condition ( which is clearly wrong)
