Dry cell batteries!

My mates Westfield has a tiny dry cell battery, would one work in our cars, as is obvious I'm not a mechanic,trackdays etc. I'm thinking of the weight/ position issue. Any advice would be appreciated, my plan would be to swap between standard and dry cell in the boot. Could a dry cell work full time! Thanks chaps
