Alloys:

So, it transpires my alloys are either genuine CS or CSL alloys. The fronts are 8" and rears are 9.5". I think CSL fronts are 8.5"?
What are the OEM polished dimensions?
What are the differences between the CS, CSL and CSL reps, in terms of size, spec, weight, build etc?

Tyres:

Currently I have 225x40x19 and look a little stretched and lots of tread. The rears are 255x35x19 and need replacing.
I have read that for 19" oem fronts should be 235x40x19 and rears 265x30x19?
However i have also read that there were different makes of tyre depending on the year of car. Is this right? If so which came on my car as oem and cs/csl alloys?

I guess if going the 265 route then that isnt going to go well with the 235s?

Hmm...

Seem to recall a good tell-tale sign that they are cheap reps is the lack of part numbers being written around the BMW roundel on the front face of the wheel. Real ones will have this.

You are correct about fronts being bigger on the CSL. They are also lighter. The rears are identical on CS and CSL as far as I know (size and weight).

Correct CSL tyres sizes are 235/35 ZR 19 front on 8.5" rim and 265/30 ZR 19 rear on 9.5" rim. This is more to do with the availablility of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup sizes than anything else.

If you chose to not have Cups on a newly order CSL, back when new, your car would be delivered with stock 19" wheels (Styling 67) and 225/40 and 255/35 tyres.

Oh dear I have genuine csl alloys. But have 225s on the front.
I hear the csl discs are very similar to standard brakes. How do I tell the difference?

Good fakes have the part number on.

The other way to tell is genuine ones have BBS on the rear and a grove on the in the inside face (the curved bit) of the rim, near the inner edge, if that makes sense

I ran fakes for 3yrs, until one got a flat spot,( but think it was probably a repaired Tyre that was causing most of the issue)

Gen CSL'S new from dealer?

Depends when they were bought, back in 2004 they were around £1200 for a set depending on discount level applied, now I believe they are double this, at ~£2400.

I'm convinced my 4 sets of rims and CSL will be making me money already
