Drivers Door Handle Not Working XTYPE 2003

Hi,

I have a Jaguar Xtype 2.0D and the door handle outside the car started to not work everytime, you had to do it a few times to get in. Now it doesnt work at all. I searched the forums and found its a common problem and you have to adjust some rod after removing the door card.

I have removed the door card and cant see any rod to adjust at all.

Anyone have an ideas??

There is no adjustment in the rod you have to fit a modified part.

Had the same problem on my old man's X type.

Tried lubricating the locking mechanism? That helped it for me (a crap load of WD40 followed by lithium grease). May still be the case we'll have to do a proper fix but it'll help for the time being.

Had ours fixed under warranty. It is some plastic part that they fit apparently. Common problem they said.

Push gently against the door with your knee while opening the handle. I don't know why it works, but it does.
