OK it's synthetic oil, so which and where to buy?

and I am now convinced that I must put only the best synthetic oil in my Chimaera. So the choice would seem to be:

Mobil motorsport (10w-40?), but do I have to go to France to buy it?

Silkolene Pro-S 5W-40 or 10w-50?

Any others, and can anyone tell me where best to buy it from? I plan to supply it to my Austec myself next time, and maybe get them to change the oil now as I have done about 3000 miles since it was changed.

France is the best place for 0-40, about 18 quid. I personally have always used the 15-50 Mobil 1 motorsport, it get's the best praise for the Chim engine.

I've just ordered some Silkolene Pro S 10w-50 from opieoilman himself. He can supply Mobil 1 motorsport (as well as a wide range of other stuff) if you prefer. Prices are cheaper than halfwits but not as cheap as a Calais hypermarket.

Mobil 1 motorsport for me too

i have always used halfords on brand fully synthetic which they sometimes have on offer 2 for1 my car simply does not burn any of this stuff!

The 15-50 stays thicker when hot, this keeps the oil pressure up.

The French stuff is 5W-40 and was produced for the higher temps encounterd in France. I use 15w-50 motorsport in my chim and have found it very good.
