This is posted for discussion and to test the waters. A copy will be on TVR S forum too.
Has anyone stepped forward to organise the above (if so, great and I'll shut up)?
If nobody has, do we want an SCH13 and does anyone have any ideas plus the time and drive to put things in motion (if so, great and I'll shut up)?
If we do want one (which I think we should) and nobody has offered yet, then maybe this post will be of interest.
TVR CC East Mids holds an annual planning meeting, which was today. One of my actions was to put this post up. We are an active Region with a few S's and many of us would be keen to see an SCH13 develop.
As we have a full calender and various personal commitments, if we (as a Region) were to help you with SCH14 we are limited to what we can do.
Therefore, I suppose we have 3 proposals a) someone else organises it b) there isn't one or c) we can arrange one on Monday 26th August (Bank Holiday in E&W but not Scotland).
If you, the community wants us to do it, then the event will be piggy backed onto an existing event which usually attracts 30-40 TVRs anyway (EM & SY Regions in the main). The event is in the grounds of a country house, it is usually a large mixed turnout often with an arena for 'best whatever' and a local radio presenter describing things. There is usually a very high attendance by Minis, various trade stands etc.
There is usually an entry cost but if we chose to make it SCH13 one of the committee has a good relationship and will try and negotiate good rates.
It is highly unlikely that people will be able to camp on site, but we can post links to sites around Sherwood.
From my view, I'm happy to go to any SCH that someone is good enough to organise. From the EM view we are happy to do the above but would be unable to organise alternitives (this isn't being 'funny' just clashes of commitments and availability).
If we do chose the Thoresby Hall option, we would warmly welcome help beforehand and on the day to support raffles, judging and the many facets that make up events.

Not sure when family hol's will be yet but IF no other suggested dates/locations are put forward*, IF I'm around and IF you need help on the day I'll try and be available. Thoresby worked well this year - part of an established car show, centrally located and a built in infrastructure (toilets, catering etc)

Just a suggestion, but when i did have my S3, i think it was S club 2009, it was held as a piggy back event to the Newark kit car show.
Just my opinion but i thought this worked very well, big crowds, established facilities,toilet block, showers, and camping etc.[and of course the bar and entertainment on the saturday night, with only a short stagger to the tents]
If i remember all the S series cars on show on the sunday were a major attraction for the paying public, and i think we won "best club stand" in the show.
Miss "kit car" created quite a bit of interest on the Sunday, as she walked around, with plenty of S owners taking photographs.[ I wonder why!]
Im sure the G.T.S section of S club would find this most appealing, as i think from memory,
she was very scantily clad,i think it was a bikini, and it was quite a chilly day.
Funny how you remember the most obscure things!
There was plenty of trade stands on both saturday and sunday, selling mainly to the kit car fraternity, but most of it has some use somewhere on a Tiv, so plenty to keep Phillpot busy, and plenty of bling items for Tinks.
The hoon on the sunday basically stole the show, with seemingly everyone gathering to watch us leave,and return an hour or so later. Somebody was also professionally filming it, but for what specific purpose who knows, i have never seen, or come across the film anywhere.
Part of the "hoon" saw us joining the A1 just behind a guy in his Porsche.I can still see the look on his face now, as 30 or more S series Tvrs roared past, at speeds no more than 70 mph of course,

Just be aware if you are googling it there are two Stanford Halls one in Nottinghamshire (the one we are interested in) and one in Leicestershire. As Notts and Leics are neighbouring counties I'm sure it wouldn't be the first time...

a good point re Newark Kit Car show. I too went there in my pre-Tiv days, it was highly enjoyable even from a spectating point of view and was one factor in me deciding to buy an S.
This venue would I'm sure be better for the Scottish lads, who got a rough deal last year. The 2 day format means a nice long weekend, hotels are close by, and the all-important camping option is available, with on-site facilities.
I'm fairly sure the TVRCC is on good terms with the show organisers, & it would further the TVR cause to have a presence there.
Just my two-pennyworth, happy to assist on the day, but don't ask me to organise anything, it wouldn't go well, & I haven't the IT skills.

First, I admire those who are honest enough to say "I'll support this but don't ask me to organise it, I'm hopeless". That might sound sarky, but it's honestly not meant to be. There is nothing worse than undelivered promises.
I can organise stuff (I do some stuff for the Sporting Bears up here) but it's not practical to organise something down there, from away up here.
The combination with the Newark Kit Car Show was excellent, there was a lot to see and do, including various sources of spares! Coventry Motor Museum, the year before, was also good. I think combining with something else enhances the "day out", in addition to chatting to all you lovely S owners.

I, for one, would welcome a Scotland-based SCH2013 or 14.

When we met yesterday this was the other option that we considered Iif we were going to organise from here) however it isn't at all certain this event will happen this year, the web site is not showing anything. If the Newark event does emerge, that would be an option but will need someone to step forward to organise

To confuse things further the Stanford Hall in Leics does car events too I think.
I remember our conversation and it does sound a viable option.

Again, I agree our Scottish friends are an important part and (with others) lost out last year which was not good.
