Have you taken the key out and put it back in ?

I know that sounds daft, but it happened to me not long after I bought mine. I stalled it and it refused to restart. The engine start button would not light up. I keep turning the ignition on and off, pressing the clutch etc and nothing. To make it worse, I was across a junction at the time and looked a right cock.

But as soon as I took the key out and put it back then away it went.

What part of ignition ON is it doing? Just registering key in, or are all the dash lights coming on, followed by Power Beauty soul, then System Check?

And is the starter button turning from red to white?

Assumming you have a full battery, and it won't even turn over (button not changing colour), then I would start at the key being the problem, it might be the anti theft device not allowing the car to start. Have you tried your spare key?

Someone just said to take the key in and out, this I understand. Have you locked and restarted etc, with the spare key?

No wanting to ask the obvious, but given the ignition light comes on do you think its the clutch pedal sensor that's not working?

So its going through the "System Check" displayed on the console? If so - manual or Sportshift? If manual and clutch in the Start button doesn;t change colour then it sounds like the micro switch on the clutch pedal.
I am assuming your windows / seat etc all move properly.

Have you got any diagnostic equipment, or do you have any access to it? Looking on your profile and your picture on it, it looks like you build your own TVR's

Can you lock and unlock the car with the remote ?

It does sound key related ( i.e. the key is not being read correctly ).

Have you checked all the fuses ? I know there's millions of them ( cus I've just looked in the manual ), but one could have blown when you changed the battery.

I'd check all the fuses to make sure they are okay.

Definitely pushing the clutch pedal all the way down?

Do you hear the slight click as you're depressing the clutch pedal (the switch activating)?
