There are a number of classic car events around the country that poor tvr attendance, might be worth a few weekend runs to those?

I agree, we need to get the cars out and about a bit more in 2013. To that end I am going to attempt to get the day trip to France planned with a trip to the D Day or Dunkirk beaches as well as a good loud run round watch this space yes

Look at the events post, there are some events other than BBWF and the Rust Nail run to go to. Not all off them will have a lot of wedges at, but if you attend you are increasing the number.

If you find an event post it up so more wedges know and may attend!

Keep us informed.

I would be up for the D-Day beaches. I have been there a few times and it would be nice to do it in some thing smaller than a tank for a change!

I have never been to Dunkirk beaches and would also love to go to them.

Chatsworth is the 1st big gathering of the year. Usually 20+ wedges there. 27-28 April I think.

I might be up for the France Fest! I have thought a few times of doing the circle route. For me it would be to Plymouth / Roscoff then drive up to Calais sticking as close to the sea roads as is practical, not using the motorways but driving thru small towns etc, then over to Dover and back home to South Wales. Or obviuosly the other way round if needed. I have also thought about doing the Irish route, Swansea / Cork then the drive up to Dublin, over to the I Love Man as an excuse to do the TT circuit and then over to Liverpool and back down thru Mid Wales ( Llanberis Pass etc ). ................Mark

Started on a plan.... yes there are some little towns on the way that look like "Alo Alo" town squares which we could take over with the cars ... The French love the cars and the sound tracks..... Plan underway I think we should plan on a day trip to start and see what the interest is. I will give this some thought and start a new thread to measure the interest

Hi Chris

I can see a problem here, unless you are doing a day trip to Dunkirk!

The ferry trip to Cherbourg or Ousteraham/Caen is 10 to 12 hours (One way)
So if you sailed say Fri night, you will dock Sat morning. Drive round Normandy for a day (Will not see much) and then catch the Sat evening ferry you would arrive back in Potsmouth Sun morning.

You could do it say go Portsmouth to Cherbourg drive down the to Ousteraham visiting the beaches on the way and return to Portsmouth from Ousterham, but you would not be able to see it all!

Its a great route and I would be up for it but a over night stay in France would be better and stupid as at may seam the Ferry price will be a bit cheaper!

I'd like to see more further north. The rusty was great fun last year (although i was only there for a day i thoroughly enjoyed it). It would be good if the south scots north england wedge owners organised a couple of days out in the intervening period between rustys.
