Griffith radio wiring
Discussion
My 97 Griff radio/cd won't come on in the 1st position on the ignition a/switch, you have to turn the switch to the 2nd ignition 'on' position. Looked at the back of the switch and can only see 3 wires, I assume one feed, one to the ignition and one for the starter. Does anyone else have this set up? Maybe someone has a work around, I thought about adding in another switch from a 12v supply to the radio so I could select it on and off independently from the ignition switch?

I initially wired my new JVC radio directly to the permanently +ve supply (one supply for the memory and one for radio operation), however I noticed that the back light on the on/off switch was permanently illuminated regardless of whether the radio was on or off. This didn't seem right to me, so have now taken the guidance offered by forum members to modify the ignition switch as in the Chimera pages link, all is well now, when the key is in the off position the on/off switch illumination is off and in the first position it is on with the radio.
Thanks guys
