My odometer has stopped working again this is 12 months after having it fixed tried all the quick fixes (hitting the top of the dash, pressing the trip re-set when reversing and tapping the glass) is there a way of stripping this down and doing it myself I seem to remember a link that someone posted on how to do this but I can't seem to find it.

Thanks

Has it stopped on a 10,000 turn over?
Has the speedo stopped too?

The motor that drives the odometer is slipping on the gear driveshaft. Mine did this, i opened it up from the back and glued the shaft to the motor. Why that couldn't have been done on manufacture i dont know!

Not easily! Think i cut mine open carefully. A special piece of equipment is needed to open them properly from the front...

You need to find someone with one for sale perhaps?

I have a spare one but it's a bit tatty but I was told it works, I'd still need to get inside to change the mileage as it would bug me.

Perhaps I need to break out the hammer.

Thanks for the replies

If you havnt sorted it yet try Mark Compton at m-fix, fixed mine this Summer, it was the little motor on the back of the speedo had finally given up after years of hitting the dash etc. He managed to find a supplier in Holland.
