Decent curry in Central London
Discussion
I know PH knows everything about Curry so where should I be going? In London this weekend staying in Clapham but will be in Central quite a bit. Looking for a decent Curry either sit down or takeaway? Where would Phers reccomend?
Also I am slightly on a budget being the new year looking to spend £60 for the two people max really not including beer.

This is good and you can take your own beer
I've only been to the one just off Commercial Road.

I've only been to the one just off Commercial Road. Lahore is great. But if you are about near Clapham / Battersea this place is good for eat in http://www.thegaylordtakeaway.co.uk/ and for takeaway http://www.bombay-bicycle.com/ or http://www.holycowonline.com/

Bombay Bicycle went bust following Shilpa Shetty buying and messing it up. Giles Coren murdered it in the press. Matt80M said:

As with previous posts, Balham is down the road. Tooting has some quality curry places, but also some rubbish. Went to a rather expensive vegetarian one a while back and it was fantastic. Admitedly, Balham might be easier on the eye if you're not used to the Broadway. Sod travelling into London - even Brick Lane is a bit overrated these days IMO.

Agreed! Whilst the starters such as the lamb chops and other tandoori grilled meats are delicious, the mains are not great at all. I have eaten there twice and each time the main chicken/lamb dishes are thin/watery, not big in size and have potatoes in it (odd!) Don't see what the fuss is about.
Much better places in West London, as as Lahori Karahi or Giftos..
