ski/board hire
Discussion
Hiya, just booked my flights to Geneva for 4 days on the slopes next month! Wahoo! We're going to book our hire car at the airport as it's apparently cheaper, Now I'm the only one without a board, do I hire it online here or when I get to Les Gets? I used to use edge2edge but they've gone! Boo! ANyone have any experience on costs hiring out there, is that cheaper too? Thanks...
In my experience it’s cheaper to book before hand. Not 100% with Les Gets but they’ll surely have an Intersport like every other ski resort I’ve even been to. You can normally chop and change for a small or no fee should you want a powder or more specialist park board-don’t really know boards as I ski.
There are plenty of Hire Shops in Les Gets. I have just paid 55 Euros for 4 days for my daughter (ski's and boots) at Sport2000. Advantages are that you don't have to lug your equipment to the airport and back. You don't have to wait ages to reclaim your ski's from the oversized conveyer at Geneva. Sport2000 is close to the lifts in Les Gets and they will provide a locker service if you are a customer. That means you can walk to and from the hire shop in your normal shoes.
I take my own ski's but next time will probably just take my boots and hire out skis in the resort.
PS It is cheaper to book online in advance.
PPS If you go to the Irish Pub do not try the Irish Car Bomb!

Problem solved, 2 for 1 on hire skis with Ski Republic, used them for the past 3 years now and they're brilliant.
