The ass-end still sticks up due to the plod - spec Nivomat shocks. A problem I will be fixing this week.
The roof wrap was to seal the roof as the holes in it (from aerials and light bar) kept leaking, no matter how many times they were filled and painted and replacing the roof lining was a job I didn't want to do twice.
I went for white as I didn't want it to look daft - it's a Volvo after all and that sort of thing suits Corsas and Saxos better (if you know what I mean lol)
Eventually I'll colour match the roof to the rest of the car but for now, it looks ok.
Have you had the ST mapped yet? they respond really well to a good remap. I'm still saving for an autotec map but till then, I have an MBC on it. Standard she's 247 bhp @10psi but I've got her boosting to 16psi now - which is fun

Nice project, makes a nice change from just having to read stuff and view pics.
Wrapping the roof to seal the holes is a good idea.
I'm not sure if it needed a bit of editing, I guess it's that long to fit the music?
With smashing the dash clocks MID?
1. You should have perhaps had a full face lid on with a visor down? Preferably black with a tinted visor? You almost got flying plastic in your face.
2. Won't burning those clocks have released PCPs into the air? I'm not sure if you or your neigbhours got a lungful?
3. Won't burning those clocks risked leaving Hydroflouric acid about? I only have experience of it from working in semiconductor plants.
Prancing Moose badges totalling 24bhp?
Aren't they Elks? Elks and Moose are the same? Or different species? If Elks that should be 24BEP? Or that would look like 24BMEP?

The vid is a work in progress, finished roughly for the sake of posting it on other forums. There will be more editing and additional footage.
My time spent working in a traditional sawmill meant I can dodge flying nasties without injury
The speedo had been repaired repeatedly, over a period of about 12 months until it eventually tried catching fire on the M3. Hence the very expensive replacement.
What wasn't shown in the burning was the overhead, powered extraction unit, used for welding plant. It has FFP2 filtration and carbon vapor trap. The remains were disposed - of as hazardous waste. Honest
I figured that if the saxo/corsa/106/micra boys can claim untold BHP gains from a shopping list of companies they can't afford to buy parts from, my Prancing Mooses (or elk, they are indeed the same animal - and very tasty they are too) must be worth a reasonable gain

Seems your Volvo clock disposal was safer than I thought. I suspect I may have done worse. I worked at a fume bench with duff extraction when encapsulating some electronics. Plus I decided the easiest way to get an old garage door to the tip was angle grinder, the tensioned cable whipped quite well when cut.
I got a bit medieval with H&S on your video, but in reality I could be a bit of a danger myself.
I'm mildly lusting your car. I prefer the previous generation looks wise and they appear so tiny now modern cars have got so massive. We've had a visitor park one of your generation V70s out front and it was a bit of a squeeze.

It's interesting to see how many people secretly like the big Swedish lumps.
The bottom line is, once you get past the stigma that comes with the badge, the V70 T5 is an extremely safe, comfortable, fast car - still one of the fastest estate cars (top end) money can buy.
A V70 the same as mine can be bought for under £1500 with tax and ticket. Mine came with the M56LK box with an uprated clutch and 3.75:1 final drive ratio. This means 30+ in 1st. 60+ in 2nd. 120+ in 3rd. 140+ in 4th. and a potential to do 190 mph in 5th (given enough power). Depending on weather or not you can get the power down, 60 takes between 6 and 7 seconds (not bad for a car that weighs 1643Kg)
The police spec also gives you Nivomat rear shocks (self levelling), stronger ARBs, stronger droplinks, better brakes and a reinforced chassis. What other brands offer you that much for such little money? OK the clutch costs in excess of £1100 to replace and there are a few little electrical foibles with the early cars but as the advert says - "Volvo for Life"

Are those front fogs standard? They look a bit 70s? A bit like they may have once been police lights or something?
I had a previous generation one shoot past me on the M27 west bound once. I would think at a good 40-50MPH more than I was doing, but it's difficult to judge speed in the dark and it whizzes past in the next lane.
Swedish lumps? I like SAABs too.

Yep, standard fit although it's rare to see plod cars with fogs. I still have the brackets for the strobes in the front grille. Earlier cars had luxuries like cruise control too - I like my cruise control (I'm lazy). M27 West - you sure it wasn't me? My spoiler is a modified phase 1 spoiler and in the dark, they look alike. There's parts of the M27 which allow you to "get home quickly" shall we say. Although at speeds over 70mph, the T5 does not get much MPG.
You like Vauxsaabs? Hmm... takes all sorts lol. It'll be interesting to see what mood the Saab boys are in at the next Swedish day at the Haynes museum in May.
