@rse. Fish tailed in the wet this morning on the way to work and basically ended up over the verge, narrowly missing a telegraph pole and a sign (thank God), and stopped in the woods. Re-visited the scene at lunch time just in case to find my front splitter in the undergrowth. Need it? Or not? I would really like to reiterate to all Tivers out there that giving it large and 'in the wet' do not go together - I will be very careful from now on.

Most Chimaera's have lost them already. Those that haven't have probably had them reattached on a regular basis.

hardly any chims (or griffs for that matter) have the splitter still on the car. Usual course of events is a speed hump removing it...

Apparently it makes little difference - owners havent even noticed theirs is missing for months. However, only 2 things it "may" effect are cooling to the engine and (very) high speed stability.

Is it obvious if you still have one fitted?

Can only speak from Griff-land where the rad is inclined and it does aid cooling. You will loose it,though. I bodged one on that doesnt under hang at all and is even better, not sure if it would fit a Chimaera.

I have 2 mangled splitters in my garage and none on the car. Each one lasted about 6 months each then I gave up - can't tell much difference with or without. high speed stability might be worse without or it might be my imagination.

Still got mine attached. The only time it fell off is when the tyre garage boy tried to drive it on the ramps and knocked it off. I made him re-attach it.

Knocked it off? sounds like an eighties record.
