I had the dash recovered in the Cobra last year and although it looked perfect at the time, the leather appears to have expanded and wrinkles have appeared and it all looks a bit 'baggy'. The car has just been kept in the garage since the dash was done.

What could've caused this and is it normal? I'm thinking the cold/damp conditions must've caused this. If so, is the dash likely to regain its original appearance once the weather starts to warm-up?

I saw a tip on YouTube involving the application of hot damp towels but I don't want to do this if not necessary?

heat and moisture is supposed to shrink it back, you could try a little heat using a hair drier but be carefull not to heat too much as it will discolour
you will probably need to take it out unstick and re stretch it, cant understand why it has wrinkled. Perhaps it wasnt pulled tight enough

Ive had various nightmares using the wrong glue on a dashboard, namely Evostick. It would simply come unstuck in high temperatures if the sun got on it, and so any streach in the material would then release and make a right mess. I re did it with an industral heat proof contact adhesive from the local auto trimmer, and its not been an issue since.
