Leaking heater valve

I have recently fitted my second heater valve within a year due to leakage from the seal behind the lever.

Has anyone else had that problem or knows of a better quality valve?

Any help appreciated.

I had a pattern part split shortly after fitting. I ordered a genuine VW one from a local dealer. Not that much more from memory.
