TVRs prices when new !

I was wondering what the price of a Tuscan S MK1 with air con was when brand new ?

I recall from the history I have on my car somewhere around 49k but I'm not 100% sure.

As I'm curious I'd also like to know the prices of other models

According to the TVR Jan 2000 price list the prices including VAT are:
Chimera 4.5 £34980
Chimera 5 £36680
Griff £36680
Tuscan 4.0ltr £39750
Cerbera SpeedSix £41100
Cerbera 4.2 £41100
Cerbera 4.5 £46500

Aircon is the same price for all models @ £1930 including VAT

Just checked the original invoice for my Griff and in 1996 it was £36430 on the road

Also have found the Aug 1995 price list:

The above suggests there is a difference between a non-HC and HC which I thought was a myth!

Just looked up an October 2000 price list and to add to what's already posted;

Tamora- £36,500
Tuscan- £48,390 (maybe that's the S price)
Tuscan R- £69,995
Cerbera Speed 12- £188,000

Add a few options such as full leather for a Cerb and that'll be an extra £2,680 please added to air con and special paint choice and wool carpets (OK lets just say fully loaded) and that's a total of around 8k extra.

There is for a 4l but not for a 5, ie all 5s are HC.

I paid the '96 price for my Chimaera 4.0HC. I really wanted the 5.0 but the 4k difference was just too much for me to find at the time.

I convinced myself that the difference in performance figures quoted for the 4.0HC over the 4.0 was well worth the extra cost but knowing now how TVR used a certain poetic license with these things, it probably wasn't.

To answer to OP's question there was around a £10k premium over a standard MK1 Tuscan for the Tuscan S.

Just dug out the sales blurb for my mk1 Tuscan S (51 plate) - retail price £48,800 incl all taxes. Hope that helps.
Apparently it does 0-60 in 3.8 secs and 0-100 in 8.1 secs. Mmmmmmmmmmm must check that out next time I'm on an autobahn!

PS Loved the write-up and pics of the Cerbera at Hassop/Monsal Head. I'm in Matlock and I just love the local roads on a quiet day. The road along the bottom of Carsington Reservoir is highly recomended.

Glad you enjoyed it!!! Almost as much as I did, falling "back in love" with the Cerb again!!!

The road from Ashbourne to near Cromford is a great road, only spoilt in recent years by another of those poxy blanket 50mph and double white lines that are blighting this nanny-state .... grrrr... however, very easy to "ignore" when on a motorbike

TBH over the last 20+ years of hooning around Derbyshire and Peak District, over time getting forced more and more onto the smaller back roads to have some fun, the main roads are just too busy and heavily policed.... that's without even mentioning the average speed camera's on the Cat and Fiddle......

Trying to recall the invoice for my Mk1 Tuscan from 2000

I think it said somthing like this

The overall total was around £60k

Oct 2005 4.0L Tuscan 2 Targa, inc Spectraflair paint, large boot spoiler, front winglets (not a standard option, I blagged them!), full leather, 18" spiders, on the road for 45K.....bargain!!

My Mk 1 Tuscan S celebrated it's 10th birthday last week, the list price on the invoice without optional extras is £48,800 incl Vat.

I ordered it in late October 2002 and still have the sales brochure for the range from that time. List prices stated, again excluding extras but including VAT were;
Tamora £36,500
Tuscan £39,850
Tuscan S £48,800
Tuscan R £75,000

The difference between the list price of the standard Tuscan and the S looks large at £9000, but £5,800 of that is made up of items that are standard on the S but extra on the base model.

I googled "TVR Cerbera-new prices" which threw up a page (in pink) which is where I quoted these prices. The extras prices for full leather are quoted from '97 according to this. I took the new car price list at face value and I don't have personal knowledge that this is correct.

Is this page just wrong then because it looked convincing?

I thought thery were the same thing (just starmist being a fancy TVR name).

But I guess not, what's the difference?

Starmist had extra mica in it to make it more sparkly I'm told.
