Just thought I'd share a great performance of "I Hate to say I told you so" from the Hives last week. ( and a very cool finish from Niklas Almqvist at 3 mins 37 )

Must have been invited back after 2011. Didn't they rip it up last year with 'Go Right Ahead', dressed the same?

There was more energy in their two slots than the entire rest of program. Thought it was very poor this year.

Indeed. That was the only part I really enjoyed, having missed the other song they performed.

I'd agree. Roland Gift was pretty good, I thought, but generally not a great show at all.

Whilst The Hives were energetic, I must admit I FFWD'ed through most of their performances when I watched the latter part that I'd recorded.

Still, that's not a reflection on their performance or energy level, just that I wasn't really impressed enough to want to listen to them all the way through.

I was extremely drunk on New Years Eve but do vaguely remember watching this as it was transmitted and thinking the Hives were very good.

It's a bit of a 'one trick pony' sound, but it's a *good* trick.

I had recorded Hootenany and can enjoy The Hives over and over. Brilliant band bringing some fun back to music, great presentation, second time Jools has brought them onto his show.
