4.3 v8 with webbers - who can set up on RR - recomendations
Discussion
Hi guys,
not strictly a chim but my new westy has a tuned 4.3 chim engine in it. it has stg 3 heads plus cam and a webber 500.
I am going to service it shortly, but want to get it on a rolling road to make sure the a/f raio is OK on acceleration and at WOT. Its very lumpy on idle so at least needs idle mix set.
Can anyone recomend any good carb tuners in the NE?
Cheers
Chris

This is a good read for setting up the Webber 500.

Northallerton Tyre and Battery set-up my race car for me. It's on triple downdraught webers. Chris at NTAB knows his carbs (and engines etc) very well.
Advice would be to use him. Other advice is don't go to anyone that doesn't hold a good supply of jets etc - it's an indication they don't do much carb work which is an indication they're pretty clueless in that area.
I have had less than sucessfull work done by McDonald Racing and would avoid.

hello,
cheers for that, im assuming they have a stock of jets and needles etc that may be needed? saying that the engine is very simple, just a dizzy and carb lol
NTAB should have most of what you want. Jets may need to be drilled to fine tune, but thats a normal accepted process.cheers for that, im assuming they have a stock of jets and needles etc that may be needed? saying that the engine is very simple, just a dizzy and carb lol
