Hello everyone! Could anybody tell me what i need to adjust/replace to stop my bonnet popping open at high speeds? it tends to lift on the drivers side first then if i keep going due to nowhere to pull in and stop the wind gets under it and sometimes causes the passenger side to pop open too? many thanks

The nylon "spikes" at the end of the locking bars are on threads and can be twisted out to hold the bonnet tighter , David

You make it sound so easy David

I think it goes more like...
The nylon spikes on the ends are on threads and can be twisted and broken off, before you have to buy another set or jerry-rig the broken pieces you have in your hand

hi
I have had this happen a few times it is best to adjust by the nuts located at the other end of the rod , I have had a few snap right where the plastic stops end on the ali rod , in the end I cut one in half and slid a metal rod inside the ali tube and fixed it back with liquid metal no problems since

Rather than snap the nylon ends off....as I did loads....you can unscrew the other end of the bar from the connecting plate where it comes through from the twisty knob thing (technical terms not strong subject) They don't break at that end and you can gain vital mm! Or as I had to do in the end, get some of the alloy rod from fabricators and cut/bend it to fit just that little bit longer...got a great snug fit on mine eventually
