Rear Wheel Bearing
Discussion
How 'stiff' should the rear wheel bearings be? After I've removed the wishbones, I've noticed that the rear wheel bearing is not that easy to turn by hand. I'm waiting on a 41mm socket so that I can use a torque wrench starting on the lowest setting to see exactly how much force it takes to turn it - but it's not that easy to turn by hand.
The bearings were replaced with new when I had the 5 stud conversion done so have covered a couple of 'k miles - I would expect them to be a little stiff when new, but to loosen up after a few miles.
I haven't disconnected the other side yet - as I think if they both need replacing it will be easier to undo the hub nut whilst still on the car. Not sure how I'm going to manage it with the hub carrier off now!!
