I suspect he saw the camera and braked...

Looks like a perfectly decent overtake that happened to be in sight of a scamera van, once he saw that the anchors went on, to no avail.

Even as a biker I thought the overtake was fine, the controlled braking whne he saw the camera left a little to be desired though...

Did he grab the handbrake? hence the action from the back section?!

Why are the bikes riding side by side more to the point?

Is it possible to get an accurate speed reading over such a short distance and the likelihood the laser would be hitting different parts of the car between the readings? Does the laser 'lock on' to a specific part like a wiper or the front reg. plate?

It's another one of those bits of film where the claimed speed doesn't appear to match the footage?

There's a time and a place, and that's not it. Bit difficult to wriggle out of it when the personal plate matches your name too.

Doesnt say for what offence he was banned for. I presume it was for the speed.

Having had a 911tt that does look strange why the ABS did not cut in when he braked.

I dont think so, looks like the movement from the rear was due to the weight transfer from the hard braking.

The overtake doesnt look particularly dangerous. As others have said, it does look like he spotted the camera and slammed on the brakes.

Got to be the 113mph he was clocked doing

Maybe the smoke was the intermediate shaft seal sprouting an oil leak as it wound the turbo up and went over 70mph biggrin

Shame it's a 996 turbo? In which case its too rare

Is that a Police rider in the middle of the bikes? Even if not, why are they effectively blocking one side of a carriageway by riding double?

Don't turn this into a biker bashing thread, please. This road clearly has a speed limit. Doing 113 on it is unacceptable, regardless of what the bikers are doing. Overtaking them is fine, but going what is probably at least double the speed limit isn't, fact.

What would you have them do?

They look like 500cc learners.

I was told when doing my full test to stay centre of your side of the road.

So two abreast or not a motorcyclist should always take up all his side of the road and not wimper into the ditch to let you past.

How could it drop from 113 to 46 odd, in that short braking burst, and not be further ahead of the bikes than he was? Doesn't quite add up, anyone else?

Not condoning this, but don't you have to be clocked speeding for more than 6 seconds or something? that over take was rapid yes but he immediately slowed to 40mph again.

Staggered formation is correct when riding in a group.
