Spectra FX Emerald Blue and a good paintshop recomenation
Discussion
First of all i hope you lads don’t mind me posting this on the TVR forum. OK, my dilemma is that i will be treating my Marcos LM500 to a full respray in the not to distant future, The current standard Marcos Blue flip green isn’t available, according to Marcos Heritage the paint supplier ceased trading a long time ago and there’s no records available of the paint formula now. Looking at the fantastic TVR colours the Spectra FX Emerald blue seems to come fairly close to the Marcos Colour?(Maybe it looks better then the original colour) Is this a expensive paint? something i have noticed is that its different on one car to the next? maybe its just the light playing tricks with the cameras.
Can anyone recommend a good paint shop in the Yorkshire area? saying that i have been in touch with SP Automotive, a fair distance from York but seeing some of there work at Tatton park a few years ago i was impressed.
Any tips or advice appreciated re: Paint shops, cost, colours etc
A couple of pics below of a Spectra FX Blue Tuscan & my Marcos LM500
Thanks

Without a shadow of a doubt I can highly recommend Chris Gregory (http://www.autorefinishing.co.uk). He is simply excellent. He does all sorts of exotica, and was picked as one of Alfa's body shops to respray all the fauly Alfa 8C paint issues iirc.
Give him a call. He's done both of my TVRs and has always done a brilliant job. Sam my old T350 fully resprayes in Alfa 8C Red the other week. Stunning.
Lovely car your Marcos - would look amazing in a cascade indigo flip - expensive tho.

The Tuscan pictured is mine and was painted by Ryan at SP Automotive. It is not an expensive paint. It comes in a flake form which is mixed in the clearcoat.
The differing effects depend on the basecoat used and the angle the car is viewed at. I used a black basecoat which was recommended by Alsa corp (the paint/flake manufaturer).
There are two different flakes, small and large. I went for the small.
Ryan has all the details of quantities of flake to clearcoat used but PM me if you want them or with any other questions. Happy to help.

Another option which looks close (in pictures) is Halcyon Atlantis, Can anyone confirm that this does flip from Blue to green/Turquoise, as anyone got some good pictures which shows the true colour(s) If its anything like the colour on the LM its dificult to get a pic to show the colour change.
This pic of the LM shows it a much darker Blue the 2nd pic showing its other side.

Thanks for the pics and the comments, i took the boot lid over to Chris Gregory (http://www.autorefinishing.co.uk)Today (Who had a nice Sagaris in), The Hacyon Atlantis Blue is spot on:-) i wonder who pinched the colour off who, Marcos-TVR :-)
The colour looks magic on the Tuscan.......
Maybe of non TVR interest......A pic of the engine.
