Profusion Exhausts
Discussion
Has anyone had any experience with this co? I fancy a change from running carbon can set-up/look and would like to try and get some oval and perhaps shark nose tail pipes fitted to a stainless system. I loved the look of the cans which Chas W at RG had made up, and numerous searches on the net have yielded little.

Braders. Yes thats what I am looking for. Rang Jason, and got Chas!! who is going to see if he and Jason can assist. will update when I know more in case there are others interested.
I may be interested dependant on price. I have the blueflame exhausts which sound good but would like more. Not sure if you saw this post and video clip of the cans Chas supplied to Pascal but worth a read.http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
Mike. Update is that no one from Pro Fusion bothered coming back to me, but as per the other comments, perhaps no surprise. Chas at STR8 is kindly working to see if he can source and fit the ones in the picture(s). From what I understand this will be a CAT back fit leading to the end pipes in the pics. I will update when I have something to note, but at the moment just finishing off the retrim.

Thanks Ian. It sounds like Chas is sourcing the system RG were selling. I tried to buy just the end cans but they wouldn't sell them without the cat back system.Mike. Yes I assume its the same. I believe that the reason it's CAT back only and not just End Cans has something to do with the weight and how they are mounted/hung. I also believe that the RG system removed the need for back boxes which again I understand contain only 2 baffle plates, thus offering little sound reduction, and only creating a S shaped flow through.
I will post again on this, as and when I hear back from Chas. A that time it may be worth finding out how many PHers may be interested in the system as it may help with some buying power.

Looking back through my emails, the Racing Green Intermediate exhaust kit was £472.50 + VAT.
The RG Oval tailtrims were £270 + VAT per pair.
Total £742.50 + VAT plus an hours labour to interface the existing pipes to the Racing Green Intermediate exhaust kit and fit the oval tailtrims

What is the bore of this system too? As I have an S if I were to go for one I wouldn't want a smaller bore. Though I may be interested in the system otherwise!
I have a big bore exhaust so am sure it could be made to fit standard or big bore. When I enquired, when Chas worked at RG this was the reply:
The Racing Green TVR intermediate system is fitted to the existing exhaust system aft of the chassis’ central strengthening plate.
Both Original equipment (OE) twin pipes are cleanly sawcut at the position shown by the pointing finger in the first attached photo.
This is some 2” aft of the point where the OE exhaust system bends downward - behind the strengthening plate -
and then runs parallel to the ground again.
The nearside and offside (second photo) rear intermediate systems are then slipped over the cut OE pipes, clamped to them
and also hooked into the OE straps which originally held the (now removed) OE lateral expansion boxes.
The intermediate systems contain expansion chambers, as you can see, which contain straight through perforated pipework, allowing
the exhaust gasflow to expand and be silenced to a degree at that point, which eliminates resonance.
The intermediate systems are full 306 spec stainless steel and can be polished for an additional £20 + VAT per pair if wished.
This is actually quite a nice feature because the lateral expansion chambers are visible from behind when you are being followed
by another car. So not only do you sound good, you look really good too !

Oddly enough, that looks exactly..and I mean exactly! what I'm currently planning to do on mine. I'm taking the car to a custom exhaust place but will also give RG a call to see if they still offer this system. I want to get rid of some of the boominess of the std system. I wasn't sure whether it was feasible to fit some silenced expansion boxes in the same location as the std ones but from the above it certainly looks good to me!
Thanks for this!
These look a nice little mod to even use with standard cans to reduce the harsh sound the un silenced standard boxes make. I'd be interested in finding out a price to supply these, but I'd rather a female end on the new pipes to clamp them opposed to welding them to the existing 'cut' pipes.

Most good exhaust places will do a similar modification. Mine were done at Advanced Automotive Systems in Newcastle, cracking job and it totally changed to sound to almost de-cat noise levels but without the tinny rasp which that brings. The replacement cherry-bomb type silencer isn't needed IMHO:-I want to get rid of some of the boominess of the std system.
