My mate was given a driving experience voucher as a gift at Christmas, and he can choose two cars out of the following list -

F430
LP560
997 TT
997 GT3
DB9
V8 Vantage
R8
GTR

As you can imagine, it's not been easy trying to decide which two! So, just for fun - which two would you choose, and why?

Personally, I'm leaning towards F430 + GT3

I'd be tempted by the GT3 because I've never actually driven a 911 so it would be interesting. I would also choose the GTR to see whether all the hype was justified enough to overcome the looks.

The 430 is a bit of a meh choice, the Lambo would come above that.

I'd go for the Gallardo and the GT3 - the Lambo for the noise/engine, and the GT3 for its interest and engine. Then again you could choose the GT-R for the unbelievable speed.

Gallardo and GTR for me.

Gallardo for that noise.

GTR to find out what all the fuss is about.

Do any have additional restrictions such as less seat time or rev limits? The Ferrari and Lambo are certainly the most "wow" and extreme poster like supercars there and likely the biggest buzz to sit in, hear and drive.

The others are all great cars, but for more accessible to try out or sample that marque/model.

On some (most, if not all) of these track gifts you cant thrash the cars. A mate lusted after a drive in a Ferrari for years and he was given a Ferrari driving experience as a gift. He was told if he went over 4k rpm and 60mph he would be told to stop and ousted from the car!

Aye, I think we're kinda leaning towards that angle too - the Ferrari & Lambo's have that wow factor, so from that perspective it's as much about the event of driving the cars as the performance aspect.

I'm not sure what restrictions are in place, but I think we can take it as a given that they're not going to allow him to thrash the tits off them cars.

Someone mentioned the GTR, I too thought it was a contender but my mate (probably rightly) thinks it isn't special enough - for the purposes of the day anyway.

For me I think it's the fact that I could potentially see myself in a GT-R at some point, as in likely being attainable to many. Or at least enough to blag a test drive of one should I want too. Less likely with the Ferrari or Lambo which are strictly 2nd or 3rd cars.
