Kind of a TV and projector combined I think.

They state that none of the effects are added post release.

Like the idea but cant help thinking that it's really off putting, having all these things flying around the room...

Lets face it. We would all love to pop along to Quarks for a bit of Holo slap and tickle.

I fear a closer vision of the future will be that shown by Red Dwarf, i.e. The male half of the population will never be seen again, preferring to spend all their time bumping virtual uglies.

I think some next gen or other at some point will seamlessly link your gaming into a "live" experience...i.e. take F1 for example, I don't think it will be long before true video (as opposed to graphics) replace what you see in real time and adjusts to your reactions....

not sure it can be applied to FPS as I think it would be suitable for more simulation type based games...

if peter kay can do a stage show with holographic musicians, it can be done for gaming...

CNN did it too last year... Tupac rises from the grave.

However it cost £10 million.

I have used a projector for the last 15 years. All my games look like that or better!

PJ's are for nothing now and all you need for the BIG picture is a decent throw distance (distance from PJ to screen). Currently on a 120" screen (in a dedicated 14ft square room), the screen is almost the whole wall.

That link you posted only allows the quality on the original monitor. The rest is not comparable to a projector and if you are using a projector to project those extra bits then you may as well project the lot. The only downside I can see is the cost of the replacement lamps, which are around £300 a year (for my JVC) if you do the 1500 hours or so I do.

The future of gaming is big screen and it will be getting cheaper once LED lamps become mainstream (50,000 hours typical). If the technology is exciting now... just wait another 5 years biggrin

It's not about 'BIG' though is it? It's about dynamically projecting the screen in front of your face into your peripheral vision and around the room. Unless I'm missing something smile

Well after watching the clip I'm not convinced. When you sit (too near) infront of a huuuuuge picture, you become totally immersed in the game - it feels more real. I saw the 'bits flying round' as more of a distraction. Maybe it looks better in the flesh.. or maybe I'm just too old to ged it tongue out

Looks like a more advance version of that Phillips lights behind the telly thing.
This must have a projector behind the user, if that's the case why not just project full screen?
