Grantura at the Autojumble

If you're headed to the Beaulieu Autojumble tomorrow there's a Grantura MkI in bits for sale (stall Red 478 from memory), asking price is £2,600 which seesm rather steep, it looks like the basis for some serious Winter work (for about the next 5 years), allegedly Chassis #18.

Yes I spotted that - looked like a new chassis ???
I wasn't sure if the engine and interior was in the van or not? There was also a Coventry Climax water pump on another stand.

Do you still have yours?

Wonder if that Grantura was sold ? The chassis certainly looked good but ooooh that bodywork would've been a challenge. Bit sparse on interior/trim, although as you say it was allegedly in the van ! Have to say, there were some pretty gruesome cars in the Motormart this year. Sadly my Grantura went about a year ago, sold it to a previous owner who has since sold it on, it's still around in the South I believe. Incidentally at the time we were close to emigrating (and besides the doors were getting too small to get in and out of with my occasional sciatica), although that fell through. I had a brief flirtation with an S3 this summer, and am about to collect a V8S: must be in the blood !
