Has anyone had their formula green paintwork repaired and if so what was the cost and quality like?

I need front splitter, rear splitter (which split...:-/ ) and door mirror touching up. I've had a bit of a runaround getting quotes, paint itself quoted from as high as £900 per litre to as little as 'free', which got my interest but ended up a waste of time! Some are confident to do the job others say it should be a whole respray etc. Any recommendations?

Hi,

I've used Chris Brown in Downham Market, very good.

He will check your paint and match it with a Camera first, as TVR was never the best with it's accuracy on paint as I found out :P

My mates car is at Central and have heard good reports from there. I know many here have used them.

I'm having a front end respray to remove some stone chips at:

http://peacockandcoockson.co.uk - Based in Coventry near TVR Power (One of several recommended by Dom at Power, where I was having a Remap)

Richtvr from PH runs that place, thoroughly nice bloke, who owns more tvr's that he should do at his age :P

Just a few thoughts. Oh a few chaps use Raceproved in Sheffield, a bit further afield for you, however check out Alex's Sag, awesome job smile

Steve

Great, thanks for the reply, will get in touch with them and have a chat.

I think you're close by the way, seen you go past as I was waiting at waterside garden centre?

Cheers, Lee

Not really formula green, but chameleon blue... I ended up paying about 600 GBP for 0.4 ltr, then on top of it (well, underneath it physically lol) the basecoat, and clearcoat another 750 GBP, excluding working hours for a respray of the window cover and a scratch on the boot lid, about 6 years ago...

Unfortunately i don't have his number, but Brendan Allen in Sheffield has a good reputation.

Thanks for the further replies and recommendations.

Chris, your website looks great, love the TVR galleries, you obviously know your stuff when it comes to our cars!. I'll PM you, but I did call by Chris Brown in Downham Market yesterday who is a lot closer and also recommended, will probably get the work done there.

I got the car back at the weekend and it looks great, Chris Brown at Downham Market did a great job, I got the black accents reinstated as they had been painted out earlier and they look much better IMO as they 'break up' and add detail to the front. Thanks for the original referral Steve, I saw your T350 in there, looking better now ;-)

Thanks also to Chris Gregory for advice and for TVR power bodyshop putting me in touch with a much better paint supplier than I might otherwise have used....excellent colour match and much cheaper cost!

Just need an exhaust now I think, I'm leaning towards Blue Flame believe it or not, I know everyone is going to say ACT/JP are better..?
