I've been driving the same route at the same speed for a few months now with no problems. Today I was flashed twice by lorry drivers.

Not the friendly 'pull-back-in' flash. The first lorry flashed me on the M66 heading towards Manchester. I was doing around 80 in the leftmost lane at the time, before two other lanes joined from elsewhere to form a four-lane carriageway. I pass the slower moving traffic which is in lane 2, I am in lane 3. the first of which is a lorry. Speed difference of around 30mph.

The second occurred on the M60, the three innermost lanes are pretty much empty with the exception of a few MLMs, and lane 1 is scattered with lorries/slow moving cars. Again, I'm doing around 80 in lane 1, and I'm approaching a lorry carrying a portacabin (the small ones used on building sites), complete with flashing orange beacon. The lorry is wider than usual, but completely within the lane boundaries with plenty of room on either side (in terms of the portcabin width, not the lorry width). I change lanes well in advance, and overtake as normal using lane 2 (again a 30mph speed difference). The driver then flashed me (actually he lit up the sky for a few seconds with his huge array of spotlights). I don't think this was typical 'pull-back-in' flash - besides, there was another lorry a few seconds in front of him.

If I haven't put you to sleep - Am I in the wrong, or am I just being silly?

Thank you for the replies. However I'm not a prostitute who drives a Prius with an open boot, the rear fogs on, and a 'f*ck off truckers' sticker on the back laugh

In true un-PH style, a black Corsa C 1.4 slightly barried from factory, with excessively kerbed alloys from the previous owner. It's all I could afford living 'oop North jester

Could it be the customary speed camera van warning? I guess you'll find out within the next 14 days.

Before I start overthinking this (too late I think); were the lorries flashing colleagues in trucks on the opposite carriageway?

If it's a Corsa then it's because one side of your rear lights are out.
