Slightly off topic, but my local Waitrose has Black Pudding Scotch Eggs. Marvellously lardy snacks.

We're stockpiling them North of the border for the post-independence famine.

Thank God! I've been put off them for a long time after a nasty one from a Wildbean Cafe years ago. Though the BP / Wildbean bacon rolls are getting better of late

Wise indeed. I'm guessing there will be an exchange rate published in due course.

Unless you're a lorry driver & have to stop by law or have young children in the car I can never understand why anybody would want to stop, let alone buy anything, at a motorway services.

Just to let you good folks know, if you get the Moto app on your phone they post a deal a day for Moto service stations.

Usually a decent percentage off food or even the total bill.

Just show the deal on your phone at check out

Don't need to. smile I drove for a living for 13 years or more & stopped at motorway services twice, both times while breaking down. This was while driving constantly all over the UK. I absolutely hate motorway services, How much for a coffee? Keep it.

I can go longer. smile A pee's acceptable though because it's a must rather than a want, but of course don't buy anything while you're there. smile

I was driving from London to Manchester and I spontaneously craved sprite and mccoys, I stopped at a service station and bought them

-1

I have the opposite opinion.

I'd take any B or DE service station over any in the UK (with the possible
exception of Tebay).

I dont mind one of the M&S or Waitrose based service stations. At least a half decent salad or sandwich can be obtained...
