Not only do I have a day off tomorrow (yay!) but I'm also expecting a delivery from Scotland to restock my freezer. The consignment includes the following Scottish delicacies. Can't wait!

Scotch Pies (proper ones made with mutton)

Macaroni Pies (scotch pie case filled with macaroni cheese... sounds weird, tastes amazing!

White puddings (a.k.a. Mealie puddings... oatmeal, onion, suet, spices etc):

Lorne sausage (a.k.a. square sausage / sliced sausage):

Aberdeen Rolls (a.k.a Rowies or Butteries):

Ahh jees, that brings back a few memories. Lived in Aberdeen for 16 years and used to love a Macaroni Pie Supper. My favourite pie and a regular for lunch was the steak version.

And a buttery with a bit of jam to offset the salt. smile

So right! And I knew I'd forgotten something! Will have to go and get some jam tomorrow...

Lived in Aberdeen myself for many years, but a job promotion meant moving down to the south-east of England in 1999. It's better down here in some ways, but I do miss being up there sometimes, particularly when it comes to the food!

I'd better not show my O/H this thread - she's from Aberdeen and has threatened me with some of those.
