sportsbike for a short arse .. any ideas ?
Discussion
My wife ( bless here little cotton socks ) is 5ft.1,and fancies a sportsbike for hooning around on.
She has sat on a few bikes,a vfr400 was to tall,but a cbr400 was 'just' there,a ns250 was fine,but 2 stroke and kickstart ( probably a no-no ),so would prefer an electric start,and 4 stroke.
so the shortest inside leg sportsbike you can think of ,it will get restricted ( yeah right ) to 33bhp so prefer an upto a 400,but if it fits, upto a 600.Style similat to bikes mentioned and anything from 1k to 2k.
Thanks peeps,
Wayne.

Hi there,
There is a website called 'biker-babe.org' that may give her some pointers.... they've had a few discussions on this particular subject.
Also - (this sounds mad - but true!) but there is a woman I've seen at boxhill who has had a couple of extra soles stuck to her bike boots to give her an extra couple of inches - they look slightly 'glam rock' but maybe another idea. You can also get seats re-shaped - often it's the width of the seat rather than the height that's the problem.
I've never been able to reach the floor properly but once you're moving it's not an issue & I just get off the bike to move it around.
If all else fails - let some air out of the tyres!
Good luck to her from me
Anna

I've had short shocks on my bike which drops the seat height by up to a couple of inches. (I'm 5'2") Mine were from Hagon shocks, and they'll fabricate to your spec, twin or monoshocks. You need to be pretty specific about what you plan to do (eg I take luggage but never a pillion) and they'll probably want to know her approximate weight.

The ' glam rock ' may be the solution !! , she has a pair of new rock boots with mega soles, she can wear them while going around a few bike shops to try them out, thanks for the advice, never thought of that and it can be a last resort !
Wayne.
Ps.Or I could nail big bits of wood onto her diesels ...
Platform soles can make it a bit difficult to change up gears!
I can't be the only one humming some sad old glam rock number in their head after reading the above

I know three inches in Man terms is fairly big - but it's not all that!.......
5'4 on a fireblade with a recently fractured right thumb.......
Tell her to put the height thing slightly to one side... a combination of cutting the seat down, one layer of insole on boots and leather jeans that have stretchy kevlar groin panels (for better leg movement) may make all the difference.
