Australian & Brtitish classic fords that I have owned

Thought you might like my photos of classic Fords. The 1600e was one which had been in the London to Sydney rally and I bought it in 1971. The guy sold it to a Ford dealer in Adelaide rather than shipping it back to the UK. I rebuilt the 1600cc crossflow,boring it out to 1650cc,fitting a stage 3 head,high lift cam,tubular exhaust manifold and twin 40dcoe sidedraught webers.It was pretty quick and more than a match for a lot of the Austalian cars of the time. The next car I had was an Australian built MK 1 V6 Essex 3.0 litre Capri.I lowered the suspension and uprated it, had a twin exhaust put on,Swaymar stage3 heads,tubular exhaust manifold,fast road cams and a Holley 650cfm carb.It sounded like a V8 and went like one as well! These early Capris are now very rare in Australia and good ones fetch high prices.
When I came to England in 1979 the first Ford I had was a Mk11 Lotus Cortina.I bought the more powerfull big valve lotus Elan engine and had electronic ignition fitted which was a big thing then. At the same time I also had a genuine Jeff Uren Cortina 1600e based Savage. This was until my current 400bhp Sapphire Cosworth the fastest Ford I have owned and it was a great car.( see my story and photos in the Cortina Savage dicussion )
I have had the Sapphire Cosworth since 1996 and have done a lot of modifications to it and it is a rocket!!
I have also had a 1500cc Anglia,and a 2.8V6 manual Granada. I have always loved Fords and will continue with them always!

Holley 650 on a V6 Essex.. that surprised me.. I have a 670 on my 6.4 litre Windsor V8 !
Some nice Fords here, having a nice Sapphire Cos since she was young must've been fun, one of the great performance saloons I reckon, Ford moved on down the road with the Cozzies. A friend took me for a blat in an early Moonstone Blue '86 three door soon after the model's introduction,dazzled at the time, superb engineering under the skin.
