Hi Guys,

My girlfriend's new car has arrived so it's time to sell her car and I would like some advice on selling it.

Firstly how much?? It's a 2008 Seat ibiza Sportsrider 1.4. It's red with 35k on the clock, full service history (major service 6 months ago), two new tyres, 12 months mot, 3 months tax. Prices seem to range from 4-6k. I'm thinking 5k, what do you guys think??

Next, where to sell it. I'm thinking ebay, autotrader and pistonheads - any other suggestions??

Thanks in advance guys!!

Cheers

How quickly do you want rid of it? if its as good as a condition as you are saying why not start at the top end and come down if needed. I've always priced cars accordingly and sold on condition. gl

I'd like to sell it in the next few weeks - It's in good condition and doesn't need anything doing to it, so I'm just trying to price it realistically!

Check Parkers, CAP and Glasses guides on the prices. They should give you an idea of price, although often tend to over value cars.
ebay and piston heads tend to be the places I look. Maybe Autotrader as well and also Gumtree.

Take good pictures and include all the info. Nothing more frustrating that reading an advert and it not including things you really need to know.

Looking on Ebay prices got from £4k to just over £5k.

Start it £5750 on here and maybe Autotrader and see what happens over the next few weeks.
If nothing be prepared to drop it £250 and then another £250 if needs be.

Looking at whats on offer right now there's an '08 plate red sportsrider with 33k for 4995ukp Slightly less mileage and slightly newer. His advert is really good;

If you do a pretty much copy and paste of what he's done then advertise it at 4700 (keyboard has no pound sign) yours theoretically should sell quicker than his.

I would use Autotrader for a mainstream car like this. A much wider audience.
