I own a 73 2500M and while inspecting the fuel system and checking to see if the engine would turn over and start I noticed fuel pouring out of one of the carbs.

any help and suggestions?

Is the fuel coming out of the air filter or the body of the carb itself? If it's coming out of the air filter, most likely problem is a sticking float - easily freed by opening the carb and giving it a good wiggle about (gently) to dislodge any dirt which has got in. Also worth giving the float itself a shake and listening for any fluid inside - I've had a float with a hairline crack in it allowing it to fill with petrol, which meant it was fully open all the time, despite the mechanism moving freely every time I opened it to check. That had me baffled for ages...

thank you, I will do a further investigation of my floats. I'm pretty sure that the fuel is spilling out of the carb housing, not out of the cleaner, I have come to grip with the fact that I need to probably give the carbs a overhaul and change the rings and gaskets.
