Hi,

I'm going to be looking to treat myself to a T350C come April, although I will admit I've never even been in one, let alone driven one yet. If we get along as well as I expect This will be my first venture into the world of TVR, and want it to be a smooth one.

I have spent hours and hours over the last couple of months reading the threads on here on what to look for, etc. But, my question for now is, looking at all the T350s (including the targas for this experiment) on sale at the moment, which do you think looks the best buy? Just want to know where others would begin their search.

I would go with this one at the moment: http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use... not least becuase it's from what I understand to be a reputable dealer with a not worthless warranty.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the madhouse.. That particular car looks a nice example, The name of the game with most cars particularly TVR's is to do your research, ( sounds like you've already started), do what most of us did before we pulled the trigger and scour the ph forums, gathering as much information as you can, the search forum is great ( when it works) the great thing about the ph TVR community is that people are so knowledgeable and helpful.. I would go as far as to say that virtually every T350 will be known by someone or other on ph and I'm sure someone will be along soon with some info on your aforementioned car, those that don't do the research can end up with burnt fingers.. Those of us that buy wisely wouldn't swap them for the world, just make sure you can afford one before you test drive, as I guarantee you will just have to have one after that first drive, ps don't rule out a Tamora or a Tuscan, in fact they are all awesome, good luck in your search.

Hi James, shame you just missed my car @ Str8six as she was a really sorted example and for similar money!
I looked for a car that had an engine re-build preferably Str8six or Powers just for some piece of mind!
I notice that there is a Prussian Blue car thats just had a rebuild in 2012 with Castle TVR for similar money but i know little else about the car.
As you seem to be doing take your time and look at as many as you can, i ended up going to Scotland twice for mine but it was worth it wink
Good luck and pictures please when you find one!

I love the looks of the T350, so although the Tuscan and Tamora are probably equally good in other ways, having driven none, my heart lies with the T350.

I love the T350 convertible build thread. This is something I would seriously consider doing in the future once I have learnt a bit more, but I don't think it would be the smooth move into TVR I wish for. So for now, a T350C is the ideal car.

Just a case of keeping an eye on the classifieds.

Forgot to add. Have you got a link for the Prussian blue car? I can't seem to find it. It's my sort ofcolour too, even though I am trying not to be too picky on colour.

Hi James, welcome to the enthusiam. I was in exactly your situation a year and a half ago. I did all my research then tested one at Racing Green. Like yourself, I preferred the looks to the Tamora and Tuscan, each to their own. I was a bit disappointed at first because the noise was not as exhilarating as I had expected. The one I tried at the time had a standard exhaust. I finally tried a Targa with AJP exhaust and was sold on it. I didn't intend to buy a Targa but the car had a good history which was more important to me. Now looking back, I would not swap my T350T for a T350C. You get so much more of the noise and excitement compared to simply opening the windows.

If you are in that neck of the woods (Racing Green) in a dry weekend then you can PM me for ride in my T350T. I'm only half hour north of their.

Thanks, very kind offer. I'm overseas until March time, thens when the search becomes serious, and it's very likely I will be down that way as it's not too far from me, and they seem to have a good rep.

I saw in your profile, you have carbon roof panels. Do these fit flush with the roof line? I'm sure I remember seeing a targa in the classifieds a while back with panels that didn't stick up like the originals.

Good hunting. The RG example looks great. Same colour as mine so forgive any bias!
The photo is my first T350c enjoying the Rockingham track-day. These cars love the track.

You'll find lots of advice on here. It's genuine and sometimes turns into practical support to. A complete stranger with a T350c turned out to get mine started after it spent a month in a barn! Top bloke and typical of the TVR/PH pedigree.

I had the black T350c 3.6 from new followed by a titanium T350c Red Rose. Not much difference in real performance but I did find that over long distances the sport exhaust on the first car was too noisy - it resonated at 3000 rpm which is motorway cruising speed.
Entirely a personal choice and depends on what type of use you have in mind.
The bump-steer upgrade makes handling calmer especially on surfaces that have become tramlined. The RG

Enjoy the buying process and enjoy the car when it arrives! We're here to help and will, of course, expect photos!

Ok i'm on the wife's Mac so its not gone as good as i planned as there is no pictures but managed to copy and paste the add!
Agree with the sports exhaust comments & run the Power sports box de-catted made 127db @ Sunday service and sounded amazingsmile Also tried the blue flame which got through 105db TD just.
I find the C has a cleaner line to the T but thats just personal choice.
The T can suffer from wind noise even with well fitted Targa panels though i'm sure is more involving with them out.
One thing to bear in mind with a C is air con as they get hot inside in the summer.
Christian
I got the colours the wrong way round its Prussian blue on the inside!

Black car looks epic, as I am sure the grey does too. I think my ideal colour would be a dark metallic red or green. I wouldn't be against a car that needed a respray and retrim, but I'm figuring it'd need more than just cosmetics if that were the case.

I do get the impression people are keen to help, genuine enthusiasum for the cars.

Will be used a lot, but for fun. If I have a 300 mile motorway journey and don't fancy it, I'll use another car, will have a snotter too. I see it as a car to use when you're in the mood, looking for an experience, so the louder the better.

Ah yes, should have figured you meant that car, but thought you meant another actually on sale at Castle.

Looks to be an equally good buy as the grey one, just how much is the dealer/warranty service worth? I think the dealer piece of mind is worth a fair bit. A decision that will have to be made at the time, just hope the head over rules the heart.

Well, if anyone knows of a good car that's being made available near mid March, please let me know.

No my ones stick up like the originals. Just lighter stiffer panels.

After a year without a TVR I'm coming back but think it's be a T350C this time. (7th TVR!!)

I missed out on a couple of cars at Christmas as I couldn't get to see them.
Hopefully I'll go to see a couple over the next week or two.
The Racing Green car does look nice. Ideal colour for me so should be going to view it.
The Dark Blue one also, but has no warranty on the rebuild which is a bit strange despite being done in September 2012. Also has a 3 year servicing gap 08-11 which is a slight concern...
There is also one on Autotrader for £17.5k but hasn't been serviced by a TVR specialist since 08. It has been to a specialist for a 'healthcheck' inc engine mounts etc but not an Engine service. Been Serviced at HiQ in that time. - How has that not gone 'pop'?! Good price but high risk. Thoughts?

Again, if anyone has one they are thinking of selling now, please let me know.

Possibly mine but it's a 't' rather than 'c'.
Brilliant silver 54 plate, 29'500 miles, full hide, a/c, full respray in June 2012 along with refurbed wheels and 4.3 power rebuild.

Are these aftermarket or factory? If factory then they're probably std panels but not painted, just laquered or wrapped.
