Shorter drivers
Discussion
Hi, this may have been covered before but the search facility doesn't appear to be working. My wife is only 5' tall so, to be able to drive a Griff, she needs some sort of seat booster. She's used a cushion before, but it's far from ideal as the cushion moves on the seat. Does anyone know of a seat booster specifically made to fit standard seats? She can't be the only one with this problem - can she?!
Thanks. Glyn

Thanks for the heads-up on the pedals, but it's not just the ability to reach the pedals, she also needs to be able to see over the dashboard! I don't want to raise the seat as that will affect my driving position, and I seem to recall having read in the dim and distant past about a seat booster, to lift the driver and move him/her slightly forward in the seat. A cushion is a no-no as it slides on the seat.
As for having to drive the Griff all the time, not a good idea if you're pished and the wife isn't!

Thanks for that, it's worth a try at the price.http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/...
I've seen one or two threads in the past where owners have had a custom 'booster seat' made for their car.
It might be worth having a chat with Kath and John at 'The Trim Technician' as featured in this month's Sprint. They have done several custom projects so I think this might be right up their street.

I found that my drivers seat is supported on four horizontal short lengths of 1" box section, the ends of which are cut at 45 degree angles to allow access to the mounting bolts. A very simple and ingenious mod which has raised and pushed forward simultaneously. I'm around 5'9" and it's perfect for me as it happens. Whenever I've had a female passenger, she's had a poor view out from that unmodified seat.
