is there any way of having the side parking lights turned on when driving, with the headlights retracted ?
(mk 1 1993 1.6 )

this would be a useful safety measure , and would avoid having to install aftermarket daytime running lights

thank-you

the side lights shiould come on with the first twist of the stalk, headlights will only raise when said stalk is fully turned;)

Mine is a 1993 uk car , and the headlights and the parking lights both come on simultaneously on the first twist of the switch when the engine is running

Is this normal?

Can I alter it in anyway to get to the desired end point as described in the title?

i have just checked in my car's manual , but there is no indication as to which relay should be removed
do you know which one it is?

total joy !!!

thank-you very much oldandslow----i've only waited for this for the last 8 years , so am overjoyed
even one with the extremelly limited skill set and tools like me, could actually get the job done

i had also posted the same question on mx5nutz, and there were others who were also interested, and so will direct them to oldandslow's response
