Not in the UK I'm afraid but the company I work with have built a GT86 fitted with the Toyota 2GR-FSE engine. This produces 306 bhp out of the box.

Its on show at the Toyota Auto Salon. I'll have the full specification soon

What's the difference in weight between this and the standard engine? Being a big V6 I'd imagine it's quite heavy in comparison, so does it harm the handling?

Sounds like a fun package regardless. How much is one of those engines out of the box?

The 2GR-FSE is all alloy so quite light.

There will be some wizardry done with the ECU as the FSE has 12 injectors not the normal 6.

I wonder how easy it will be to mod the 86, the older jap cars could push out stupid power with mods but with newer car it seems a hell of a lot more difficult. I really like the 86, but it's the same weight as my car, less powerful and lacks pop up headlights (which make any car a 1000 times cooler)

I was in a toyota delaer last week and the salesmen there stated they were expecting a Supercharged version of the GT86 by the summer. Also there are several super\turbo charging kits available (although I'm not sure if they are in the UK yet).

I suspect this big lump would upset the balance of the car quite a lot, toyota are pushing heavily how low and light the engine is...

Doesn't mean I wouldn't like a go though!

Very nice I'm sure, but doesn't that kind of defeat the object of the GT86? It's about the maintenance of speed, not point and shoot....

I would suggest it would be better to lower it in slowly and then do up the bolts.

It is quite tall, and a tight squeeze height wise. This is a 2GRFE:

We've had to abandon our plans to place a supercharger on top as it stuck out Mad Max style!
