I asked a simple question, thread go closed on website feedback and Biker banter. No email sent to me why, So I asked nicely. no reply

No reply to report button from mods also

I was happy to advertise the forum using PH stcikers as i "was" proud to be a member

Only coming back now to talk to good friends I have met on here

Are the mods to busy to give a simply reply to members when asked, and does a thread getting closed that has had no reply from any mods no warrant a simple email why?

They are having issues with email stuff at the moment, I think, that may explain some of your issues.

I think there's a problem currently with mail sent via the forum (apparently some mails have been taking up to 4 days to get through), so you may yet get something.

Ahhh ok and thanks for that. And why I have tried not to get to irate about it. Would have been good though in the website feedback thread to give a reply on the thread before they closed it

From what I can see you were given the reason for closure on the closed thread, there were at least three other threads running in other forums at the time that had been started earlier than your one, and I suggest on the thread closed that we stay with those.

IIRC at least another two have been closed since the closure of yours as it was felt that we had sufficient coverage of that particular topic.

HTH explain.

Al as I explained or have tried to, it was relevant to Biker banter as it concerned bikes as well, why do thread that are started up then withing days PH2 thread about the same thing started and it's not closed? or merged to the original thread.

I don't visit the other boards and as it was bike related can't see that closing the thread was a good idea or warranted. did it hard PH? take up too much space?

So posting a bike relevant thread in biker banter, I don't have a Porsche, Live int eh area it was from or go into GG.

and it was more the lack of reply from a mod and the closure of the feedback thread without a simple reason that got to me

Multiple threads aren't allowed, so the mods have to delete multiple threads. I don't see why your thread should be allowed, just because you don't visit other parts of the forum. I'm not a mod by the way.

BB is a pretty close-knit community, it's largely self moderating and I don't think a lot of us venture far from that one sub-forum.

I for one wouldn't post in General gassing (which was the redirect) any more (I used to, I've been on here for a while) because whatever you post, somebody decides that you're some kind of man-monster for something that's not relevant in any way. And the levels of agression and knit-picking I've seen doesn't make me want to be there.

The thread that Remal's talking about had motorcycle content, and is about a place that is a huge biker hotspot, that many of us have been to.

His other point is that PH2 now puts many items on the homepage that are already being discussed in BB. These threads are never closed as duplicates (would be harsh to close an old discussion, and odd to close a PH thread I guess) so whilst I know the blanket rule is that multiple threads are not allowed, they are when PH does it. So I guess the odd one isn't that big a deal.

It's nothing personal I can assure you, it was just another same topic thread how many of one particular thread do we need, again IIRC you had a thread running in BB about the TV prog about supercars that remained open as it was one of the first raised, we also had about another 3 running in other forums 1/2 a dozen more were closed and linked, it just gets to the stage when we decide we have enough coverage. Those members could well as thought the same as you "why should I move out of my forum"

as Paul said here

That was also what a couple of other members posted on your previous WF thread.

It's summed up in the old saying "you can't please all of the people all of the time" and on a site this big with this many members, that is going to be par for the course. smile

All of the forums think that their particular forum is more precious than others, as I said and I'll sign off on this now you can't please all of the members all of the time.

I've tried to give an honest response, please take it as you will. smile
