HI there

Got a 2006 997.1 C2S with PCCB, so 350x34mm front rotors and 350x28mm rear rotors.

Can I fit 997.2 TT 380mmx34mm front rotors?

I suspect I'll need an adapter which I think is part 997 351 505 02 and maybe 4 longer bolts but just wondered if anyone knew if it was definitely possible as I've been offered a full set of ceramics at a great price making them worth buying, but only makes sense if they will fit.

I can obviously use my hats for the disc which have the right offsets though I believe turbo has the same hats as the C2S for PCCB.

I can pop out to my 997.1 Turbo and tell you my hat part numbers if that helps you out Gibbo.

I thought all 997 ceramics were 380mm on the front, you live and learn. smile

Hi m8

The C2S with PCCB upgrade used the newer Gen disc but was indeed only 350x34mm front which I believe was same size on the outgoing 996 Turbo S and 996 GT2 models, maybe 996 GT3s too. Whereas 997 turbo and GT2 were indeed 380mm on the front.
my current ceramic disc are fine but I like doing track days so a spare set at the right price is not to be missed.

I found a Porsche PDF document which has instructions on retrofitting but I'm on iPad so can't post it at the moment, it looks possible from the document just need 2 adapters and 4 bolts to space my calipers out to accommodate the larger front disc, just be good to know if it's 100% possible.

Also discovered that P50 motorsport pads are also better for PCCB life too as they control heat better, only downside is they don't work as well from cold as the standard PCCB pads.

Hi Gibbo,

Similar car to yours and will need new PCCB pads soon - interested to read your opinion on standard v P50 pads. Any info about the difference and indeed tips on where to look to acquire P50's would be much appreciated.

Quite interested about your 380mm retrofit outcome too and indeed what track day tangible difference you feel if you do discover they're compatible.

Also, did you complete the full X51 pack conversion? There are precious few 7.1 C2S X51's about!

Cheers

The P50 pads are available from Porsche, they are classed the motorsport versions. Should be green with P50 stamped on rear.

X51 conversion decided to leave it for now as it's a lot of money to gain 10-15BHP, but is definitely possible that is for sure. smile

I don't expect the 380mm to offer any additional braking power, I suspect they just manage the heat far better.

If you decide not to go the ceramic route I would be interested in them for my 7RS Gen 2. PM me if yes.
